THE THANG:

YHC led PAX through 2.65 miles of lovely terrain and history of Forsyth and the surrounding area. Up until 2 miles, we stopped every quarter mile and had a history fact and did exercises:

.25 miles: MP was opened in 1929, so we did 29 merkins in her honor.

.5 miles: Football field has had its share of excitement over the years, with the last football state championship being in 1980. We did 19 burpees for Mitchell Field.

.75 miles: Stopped next to Tractor Supply at the old car wash and celebrated the bicentennial of Monroe Co with 21 WWI sit-ups

1 mile: made it inside the Tift College perimeter and did 49 LBCs for Tift College opening in 1849.

1.25 miles: PAX choice for celebrating my graduation year of 2004 from MP. SoCrates suggested 4 kraken burpees and I added 20 SSHs.

1.5 miles: finished just inside the perimeter and YHC talked about the presence of Confederate hospitals during the Civil War tending the wounded. 1864 was the height of their existence, so Slowpoke suggested 18 alternating shoulder taps.

1.75 miles: ended up behind Farmer’s Furniture and had a wonderful view of the courthouse click tower. The current courthouse was constructed around 1890, so we did 90 heel touches (1 count)

2 miles: We finished up in from of United Bank and the last change in the county came from Lamar being created in 1924 from parts of Monroe, Butts, and Pike. We did 24 monkey humpers right in full view of the traffic passing by.

Heading back to Mary since time was short.
